Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am a beginner in Yoga, where do I start?"
If you've never done yoga before, then we recommend joining one of our 75 Minute 'Beginners 101' courses- these are held bianually so check on the 'Workshops & Courses' section of the website. The 6 week course will introduce you to all aspects of 'yoga' from the philosophy to the physical. There will be plenty of space for you to ask questions and to meet other new beginners. After this course you will have the confidence to join in any of the classes offered at The Yoga Loft. Alternatively, if you cannot make the beginners class, we recommend a private yoga class to assess which group class you would be best suited to. If you would like to speak to us, please email
  • Do I have to book in advance? How do I register and pay?
*** As there are only 3/4 spaces in the studio, it is compulsory to book into each class/course/workshop to ensure your space. REGISTER/BOOK & PAY ONLINE Via the website there are a variety of options to book and pay via the 'Timetable & Bookings' Page 1. Purchase Class Passes on the 'Plans & Pricing' page and see 'class credit' on your account. You can then use these credits to book into a class without adding in your bank details each time. This way is also the most cost effective. 2. Book individual classes online using your bank card (these details can be saved into your account for ease). The full class fee will apply here. 3. Paying in Cash? Reserve a space in the class on the checkout page. The full class fee will be paid on entering the studio (please arrive a 10 minutes early if you would like to pay in this way)- cash or card is accepted at the studio. • What do I need to wear for Yoga?
Wear comfortable gym clothes in which you can move well. Yoga is done barefoot, so please take off your shoes and put them next to the entrance in the shoes shelf as soon you enter the room.
  • Can I eat before Yoga?
Ideally, you should practice yoga on an empty stomach. If you’re eating a light meal prior to your yoga class, make it at least 1 to 2 hours, heavier meals roughly 3 to 4 hours beforehand. This should give your digestive system enough time to digest and you won’t feel uncomfortable during class.
  • Do I need a mat or bring anything with me?
Yoga mats are provided by The Yoga Loft along with any props you might need during class. Although if you come regularly to yoga classes, you might be more comfortable with having your own mat. You also might like to take a handtowel with you, as most likely you will sweat during class.
  • Can I park at The Yoga Loft?
Yes you can, there is designated parking...and much of it. You will never have a problem with parking. However, please park so as the boats can be removed from the hanger

Children aged 14 or 15 may attend all other classes with a guardian who is over 16 at the class teacher’s discretion. If you would like to bring your 14 or 15 year old child to a class please contact the Yoga Loft that you plan to attend to confirm that the class is suitable.
  • When should I arrive for my class?
